"Why, hello dear Galkendgordendaisus," Aphrodite said sourly. Why the long names? "It's so nice to see you."
She wondered why everyone went through such trouble with disguises. Who cared if the mortals saw a Goddess walking down the street? They deserved to be noticed, to be honored!

Hera rolled her eyes at Aphrodite, and glared at Hermes. It was him who had caused this mess. "I swear to Hera and Athena," she smiled slightly. "I would not tell you lies, I know who he is, and what kind of man he claims to be."

"Ah! It has clearly been too long, for my name is Polyseameadus, dear...girl I am related to," He continued to pester her, trying to see how much he could vex her before she spoiled their cover. When Hera began to speak riddles, he arched an eyebrow in her direction. "And they think I'm weird," Hermes thought to himself before shaking his head in disbelief.

"My name is Aphrodite," she said sharply to Hermes with a smile. "It seems it has been too long."
"Greetings, mortals," Aphrodite said lazily. "What brings you to Athens, Greece? I suppose you're lost, are you? Hmm..." She put her arms around Hera's shoulder. "How are you, dear sister?"
She simply loved annoying Hera... it was so easy.

Athena looked over at Aphrodite. She had said her name. What was she doing! Blowing their cover. Deep down she was about to hurt Aphrodite, but she held back the feeling. This was absolutely terrible.
"Yes. Now let us all not shut out our new friends here."

Post by Poseidon on Aug 26, 2005 21:21:41 GMT -5
Poseidon had been down in the depths of his underwater kingdom, sulking over the condition of the Earth. He had caused a tidal wave to crash into the desert of Libya, almost throwing Atlas' balance off as he kept the weight of the world on his shoulders. There had also been a whirlpool at the docks of China, swallowing quite a few trade ships and becoming decrepit decorations on the ocean floor.
Bored, Poseidon swam up, thrusting his tail as he reached the sun-laden surface and broke through. He realized he was on the sandy beaches near Athens, and just in the distance were the godly presences of Aphrodite, Athena, Hera, and Hermes. The strange mortals were also there. Diving back below the surface, Poseidon made his way to a small pond not far from Hermes' shepherd hut.
Hidden beneath vegetation, Poseidon was able to hear all that was said. He could also make out a few people through the cracks between the blades of lengthy greenery.
Aphrodite let their cover slip, and Poseidon became furious. They were not supposed to reveal their covers, and yet her carelessness could have cost them everything. The water around him seemed to become hotter and bubbled madly as he tried to fight his inner rage.

Hera looked up towards Mt. Olympus, and sighed. She looked back towards Athena, What are we suppose to do now? She eyed questioningly. Aphrodite had blown their cover, and most likely losing the trust of the mortals. She glared at Aphrodite viciously. She instantly looked around for Poseidon.

Aphrodite knew she hadn't blown their cover and said her name, but it really wasn't her fault. Hermes was the one who had taunted her into doing it, and she knew it. Poseidon probably knew, and she knew he'd be furious, but she could deal with it. She had many times before.
"No, we had better not do that," Aphrodite said sweetly, turning to the mortals. "Friends, may we offer you our hospitality?"
((this probably sounds stupid, but does anyone know if Aphrodite has any powers besides... love?))

Harry looked at the graceful woman. Just glancing on her person was difficult, considering if he looked for more than a few moments he would never be able to divert his eyes. "If we could just go somewhere indoors, we might be more comfortable," Harry suggested, looking at the other goddesses with a bit of despair in his eyes.

Athena looked to the child and sighed. Hopefully he wouldn't tell anyone. moving closer in to make sure no one around them heard except them.
"Children, please promise to not let this slip to anyone or there will be trouble."

(((love, beauty and sexual rapture. Just googled it.)))
Hera sighed. There cover had been blown. "We are goddesses. The shepard was a god in disguise." Hera said truthfully, Poseidon would be mad, but it was all of Aphrodite's doing.

"How true," Aphrodite said. "And I am Aphrodite, Goddess of Love." It felt good to get that out in the open, even though it pretty much already was.
Her eyes lingered on the boy. Oh, she loved mortals. What were mortals without gods?"

Athena sighed and looked up. Might as well say who she was. Something in the pit of her stomach made her feel like she could trust these children. They were so caught up in their problams that they would probably forget who they actually were.
"I am Athena, Goddess of Wisdom."

Hera sighed, and looked around for Poseidon. "I am Hera, Queen of the Gods, and Goddess of Marriage and Birth." She said in an almost regal voice.
